Apology published 16 November 2009
Since we published our public apology last Monday (9 Nov), this viral campaign has snowballed even further and we have now officially received more than 50,000 applications for a voucher for a treatment and a blow dry. We have also received a whole lot of criticism for being naive on the nicest end of the insult scale, to being conmen on the opposite side of that scale. Whilst we are trying to take this criticism on the chin, at the same time trying to protect our hard-earned reputation and professional integrity, the only way to “fix” this is by offering all of you the following compromise:

1.Firstly, we have decided to issue 500 vouchers (for the luxury Kérastase ritual and blow dry) to the first 500 qualifying replies to our original mail – and this is up from 300 which we published in last Monday’s apology;

2.Secondly, we have decided to offer all the other unsuccessful repliers, a one-time blanket 10% discount off all Gary Rom Hairdressing services and products in any Gary Rom Hairdressing salon for all first-time visits only until close of business on 30 June 2010! In order to take advantage of this discount, you need to take a copy of your original referral mail in this campaign which clearly shows the date of sending to be before midnight on Monday 16 November 2009;

3.And finally, we have decided to have an additional prize draw on Thursday 4 February 2010. This second draw will be for the unsuccessful repliers in this e-mail campaign, with the cut-off for replies being midnight tonight (Monday 16 November 2009). In this draw, we will give away 20 colour makeover vouchers worth about R1,500 each, and these vouchers will be redeemable at any Gary Rom Hairdressing salon. Details of this draw and the 20 prizes will be published in a further update on this website.
