We’d like to thank Nicole Flint, our current Miss South Africa, for helping us with our prize draws last night - we were a little late with the draws due to a few logistical issues, but never mind, better late than never.

The 505 names in the first draw comprised those people that:

  1. 1.received vouchers from their original referral e-mails; and

  2. 2.actually used them in our new salon at Edgars Melrose Arch on or before 31 January 2010.

The fantastic prize for this person is a year’s free hairdressing services and products!  We prepared 23 lists of names, with 23 names on each list, and then we put 23 numbered ping pong balls in a fish bowl, and then we asked Nicole to draw a list number first, and then a name number, and the lucky winner, drawn by our lovely Miss South Africa, was Carol-Lee Focé from Midrand...well done Carol-Lee!  Lauren, our PRO, will have sent you details of your prize already...so enjoy!

Our second draw comprised just over 15,600 names - these were all the people that had sent our e-mail message to at least 10 friends, and had cc’d our GM - after we had removed duplicates and non-qualifying e-mails, and removed those 505 people that were originally issued treatment vouchers.  And this is where it gets tricky!  As I received mails, I added the sender to a contacts folder, and ended up with a contacts folder with 15,612 names in it.  Then I exported these contacts to a spreadsheet and created 25 tabs and on each tab I had a 25 column x 25 row table of names.  Once again, we put 25 numbered ping pong balls into our fish bowl, and the lovely Nicole firstly pulled a ball for the tab number, and then we replaced that ball and she pulled again for the column number, and then finally the row number.  And we repeated this process 24 times because we had 24 colour makeover vouchers to give away (worth R1,500 each!) to the unfortunate souls that didn’t manage to get a voucher from the original e-mail campaign, and the lucky winners were...

...Caroline Heap (carolineh@cor...); Hayley Piketh (hayley@pro...); Arthie Singh (arthies@dis...); Simonne Katz (simonne@eye...); Teri-Ann McAdam (tmcadam@tar...); Tamara Van Der Merwe (tamvdm@mwe...); Pauline Koekemoer (pauline@jlk...); Jamie Hearne (jamie@del...); Tracy Atkinson (rijenash@iaf...); Cheryl Sparks (admin@rid...); Susan Carroll (ssjc@glo...); Tracey Levell (levell@mwe...); Guin Versfeld (guin@iaf...); Julia Lamberth (julia.lamberth@za...); Gail Jelley (gailj@mic...); Wendy Murray (mwwendy2@mwe...); Mandy Newell (mandy.newell@one...); Caroline Schnell (cj.schnell@mwe...); Simone Sim (simone@sim...); Philippa Coxwell (pcoxwell@iaf...); Dominique Enthoven (dominique@tho...); Helen Gardiner (drummossie@tel...); Sally-Anne Jackson (sjackson@edc...); Michelle Jenkins (mjenkins@wol...); Susan Nel (everydayinteriors@iaf...).  Our lovely PRO, Lauren, will be mailing your vouchers soon.

Once again, thank you all very much for helping us spread the word and we hope that most of you stay clients of ours for a long time to come.
